Thanks for the email, although I only wanted your account name, not your password. You should never give anyone your password ever, not even to someone who works at CCP.
I checked the petitions and such, and I believe the GM gave you the relevant information.
Originally by: EULA on passwords 2 B. Passwords and Names You will be asked to select a password during the registration process ("Password"). You may not disclose your Password to anyone or allow anyone to use your Password to access the System or play EVEÖ. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your Password and for any damage, harm, lost or deleted characters, etc. resulting from your disclosure, or allowing the disclosure, of any Password, or from use by any person of your Password. You may not obtain, attempt to obtain, use or attempt to use the password of anyone else. You are responsible for remembering your Account information and Password.
You will be assigned a login name and a character name during the registration and character creation process. You may not allow anyone to use your login name or character name to access the System or play EVEÖ. No player may use the character name of another player to impersonate or falsely represent his or her identity. You may not obtain, attempt to obtain, use or attempt to use the login name or character name of anyone else.
You are encouraged to use a pseudonym, but you may not choose a name that violates anyone's trademarks, publicity rights or other rights. Acceptance of a pseudonym by the System does not mean that your chosen pseudonym does not violate anyone's rights. You are responsible for any liability incurred by yourself, CCP or anyone else due to the pseudonym you choose. CCP retains the right to reject any pseudonym it determines, in its sole discretion, is unlawful, indecent, obscene or otherwise violates standards of good taste.
This means that keeping your login details safe is your responsability, it doesn't matter if you give them to someone or if your computer is hacked or anything, if someone else obtains your login details you are still responsible for what happens. Normally however, you can get the account back by proving you are the account owner.
Originally by: EULA on selling characters and accounts 7 B. Selling Items and Objects You may not transfer, sell or auction, or buy or accept any offer to transfer, sell or auction (or offer to do any of the foregoing), any content appearing within the Game environment, including without limitation characters, character attributes, items, currency, and objects, other than via a permitted Character Transfer as described in section 3 above. You may not encourage or induce any other person to participate in such a prohibited transaction. The buying, selling or auctioning (or any attempt at doing so) of characters, character attributes, items, currency, or objects, whether through online auctions (such as ebay), newsgroups, postings on message boards or any other means is prohibited by the EULA and a violation of CCP's proprietary rights in the Game.
As I said above, even if someone steals your login details you are still responsible for your account, selling characters or accounts on ebay will result in the termination (ban) of the account. You can read more on termination and suspension of an account in the EULA, section 6.
As far as I can see, this case was handled according to our policies, I'm very sorry that it happened to you, but our rules are clear on these matters.
